I have to take my bike to Bangalore though i was confident to ride down 2700Km on my RE and enjoy real adventure but considering views from friends and family i made up my mind the riding ~2700Km alone is not a good idea. So plan was to send my bike by indian railways. i decided to ride bike up to New Delhi and from there send it via indian railways.

Foggy Road Before National Highway 1

On 2nd Jan 2012 i started from Nahan (Himachal Pradesh)at about 8 am , I was having a backpack with laptop and some clothes. I chose to ride up to Ambala and then take NH1 to reach Delhi. first break was at KalaAmb where i top-up fuel tank and met my in-laws. Moving further on NH72 i reached Naraingarh, from naraingarh i took state highway to reach Ambala as soon i crossed Shahajadpur, road visibility decreased with fog. Headlamp was on but was giving no happiness, travelled at 30kmpl upto Ambala and joined speedy zone. Increased speed to 80kmpl, I did not have breakfast at home so i stopped for a Alloo Prantha and tea at restaurant. After crossing panipat policeman stopped me, now this is interesting incident, i stopped bike removed my gloves, policeman asked me to show documents to other officer who was standing in the road side booth and was checking documents of other 2 wheeler, He was checking documents and was telling something about his washing machine, some comedy stuff .. others were smiling i also joined the queue with a smiling face. Along with the bike documents i had a letter from income tax department and officer took that paper, i remained quiet, he had a look on the letter and said to me," क्या लिख्या यो म्हारी समझ मा ना आवे, Licence दिखा दे " (i don't understand all this, you show your licence). i gave my driving licence which he returned after having a look and i continued my jounney. i reached Connaught Place delhi and called up my friend Prashant. Kept my bike at parking and went to new delhi railway station to enquire about parcel process. After riding from Nahan to Delhi i got a feeling of incompleteness as journey was not sufficient for me i started thinking to ride further, but after talking to Prashant, Tejinder and Gaurav Gupta i again dropped the plan and started calling various transport facilities, some were charging too high some were asking for no objection certificate etc etc. Railway department was asking for a confirmed ticket after that only i am eligible for sending parcel. finally at about 8 pm i decided to ride down to bangalore. Cancelled my flight ticket and had nice dinner with prashant.

Rajasthan Entry Pillars

Next day morning i was ready at 9am to leave gurgaun. Started my journey with top-up tank at gurgaun petrol pump and hit the NH8 towards jaipur, I was moving on 90kmph. After moving about 200Km i decided to take a break and all of sudden i got attracted by a roadside board with a restaurant name "Achanak" (Hindi word meaning "Suddenly"). Had nice alloo parantha along with a tea. People were staring my bike and asking common questions cost, milage, etc etc. Continued my journey after food and this time i increased speed i was riding above 100Kmph with a plan to finish today's ride before sunsets.

अचानक Restaurant

Stopped at petrol pump after some kilometers to feed the tank. i noticed that a shield of silencer was hanging out as one of the screw came out most probably due to vibrations. i had touched 120kmph during this time, at Night Prateek has told me to tighten all the screws before starting, but i forgot, few kilometers after petrolpump i found a shop where i could get a temporary screw to hold the shield, also tighten the other similar screws here. After this point i was mostly riding at about 100kmph and enjoying greenry of rajasthan. at around 6 pm i reached udaipur, with help of Prateek's sms and calls i finally managed to find "Pathako'n ki Pol" street and reached Prateek's house.

People Staring my Machine

Had bath and awesome dinner at Prateek's house and a night walk to famous Jagdish Temple and adjoining famous Lake. i was sleeping on the bed at about 11PM which is very early from the usual sleeping habit and as a result i got up early at about 3:30. I dont wanted to disturb Prateek's parents so i remain on the bed trying to sleep again, but i know myself i couldn't sleep after certain hours. finally i got my android and starting internet surfing. After about 1 hour Prateek's father got up and saw me awake, first he was worried i might got up due to cold but i ensured him that udaipur temperature is no cold for this pahadi. I managed to tell him that leaving early will be nice for me to reach pune on time.

Udaipur Palace on other side of Lake

Though he don't wanted me to send without eating something but finally he didn't stopped me. i got ready in some minutes and reached downstairs at parking place. I removed stand and tried to move, bike not heavy and when i looked the rear tyre it was flat. Oh i was really sad at this point. i was very eager to move as soon as possible but uncle told me that at this time no repair shop will be open, and we finally went back to house. He was also not able to sleep after this and sun was also out, finally uncle decided to take me for a morning walk along with search for nearby puncher repairing shops, We were on his scooter and we went to lake, He has showed be huge part of udaipur within short time which added udaipur to travel list. i will surely visit udaipur very soon. Parked scooter at a point and did 1 kilometer long walk, while returning i found a puncher mechanic near petrol pump. Back to house and then i said goodbye to Prateek's parents. We found and removed the nail from the tyre so that it doesn't make more holes in the tube . It was nice exercise to take bike to that petrol pump about 500 mts. After staring for some seconds he said its difficult to fix this tyre later he asked me put bike on center stand. Mechanic decided not to remove tyre from the bike's body instead he opened the tyre from the rim there itself. He got is watertub shifted near to bike and somehow with lot of tube rotation he fixed the puncher. By this time 3- 4 people were gathered watching bike and listening to me. People were not believing that i came from snowland himachal. only thing to prove them was HP number plate on my bike. Finally with a tea and all the best i left udaipur.

Big Parantha

Last day i have covered about 650Km and today target was to reach pune which was around 850Km, but i couldn't avoid taking breaks as they were must. so I tried to maintain speed above 100Kmph. Road was awesome i was riding towards Ahmedabad on NH8 after crossing Ratanpur i took SH5 to reach Vadodara directly avoiding Ahmedabad. Just after starting on this state highway i found a Haryana Dhaba. I asked for 2 paranthas and a tea, the haryanavi guy replied back, "आपको तो एक ही बहुत होगा, शाम तक खाने की जरुरत नहीं पड़ेगी " (for you only 1 parantha is enough, you wont need anything till evening). And guy was true it was big parantha bigger than my Helmet, Parantha was like dipped in butter, along with Parantha he gave me plate full black daal. I managed to eat that complete parantha and continued my journey.

Ends Rajasthan Begins Gujrat

This state highway was two-lane road compared to NH which was 6 lane, i was thanking Narendra Modi for such a wonderful roads, after that Haryana Dhabha i left rajasthan and enjoyed Gujrat .. i visited Godhra before reaching Vadodara. After Vadodara i was back on NH8 and speeding up towards Mumbai. Awesome roads at a stretch i speed up and was able to touch 130 top speed. Odometer crossed 3000 mark at which i was suppose to get bike serviced. Morning parantha was enough not have anything during lunch but just to take a break i was looking for a restaurant at Bharuch. and i saw a gurudwara. I stopped there visited gurudwara where sardarji asked to have prasada (food) at lunger hall.

Gurudwara Chadar Sahib, Bharuch

I had no space to take any lunch but i went to lunger hall and had glass full of tea. Wherever i stopped and talked about my journey they were all showing a feeling that i am doing something stupid by riding this much distance on bike but here it was different, while i was tightening up my shoe laces, A guy came and said me "होर जी घुम्मण चल्ले" i was so happy with greeting i had small chitchat with him and got to know that i was at Gurudwara Chadar Sahib and that guy was truck driver i might have crossed him sometime back and he did noticed Himachal number plate on bike. Got some more wishes from the guy and blessings from Guruji and continued journey. Around 1:40 PM i left gurudwara and i knew that pune is more 500km far. Riding and riding i reached Ghodbunder Junction from where i had to get out of mumbai highway and take state highway to reach pune sun was out of sky and pune was 170Km more at this place. Headlamp on and i have decided to not stop before pune, I unexpectedly i couldn't find bye pass and i spent time in traffic jams at thane, mumbra and panvel after crossing these towns i was on NH4 and enjoying the night ride. finally reached pune at about 10PM and it took another 30 minutes to find and reach Magarpatta City at pune. Veera Pavan came at gate of Magarpatta city. Many of his friends were already at his house to see me as he has informed to all that his friend from himachal is coming on bike. We had nice dinner prepared by Saleem, along with Ananth and all Pavan's friends. Along with dinner lot of talks and what not.

Replaced temporary screw

I was supposed to get my bike serviced at pune and for that i decided to continue journey after 2 days. unfortunately RE at pune refused to service bike as they were already booked for a week. They suggested me to continue journey to bangalore and get bike serviced at bangalore. In these two days i finished some office tasks and little rest and met Kiran Sir and Pandit Akhilesh.
Finally on saturday morning i left pune at about 8am.This was another 850 km slot that i have to cover awesome road we can actually see kilometers of straight road on this highways ..All straight roads were tempting me to try to reach another top speed point but somehow i controlled myself as bike didn't got serviced i didn't increased about 120Kmph and kept riding 300Km i stopped at petrol pump and again started riding.

last 500Kilometers left

Next stop was at mile stone showing bangalore 500Km took a photo and uploaded to facebook i didn't even waited to see upload complete notification. After this point i was like watching my odometer again and again. Now i wanted to cover it as soon as possible. My eyes were watching for the milestones showing be left kilometes, it was not even 60 -70 kilometers, and i saw a rajasthani dhaba Nice Army green color gypsy was parked in front of dhaba and i slowed down to get some food here . i had nice lunch here and continued ride. I was riding and only feeling was to end the journey as quickly but it was long distance. i maintained my speed between 100 to 110 kmph. and kept riding Later at about 4:30 i again stopped at a punjabi dhaba of Shri Satnam Singh for a steel glass full of tea. Wife of satnam singh was shouting on the dhaba workers in punjabi. Another old babaji was cutting some vegetables on caned bed. I was feeling as in some punjab village.

Welcome to Sajjanpur

Awesome had little chat with satnam singh and told him about my journey. He gave some more blessings along with instructions to ride safely. and i continued riding . Finally i was at bangalore at 7:30PM tweeting at some traffic signal at yashwantpur.. I was feeling Happy and satisfied with the journey. Someone has suggested me not to stop at bangalore and keep your ride continued upto Kanyakumari. but Bengaluru was enough for this time .. वैसे भी अब कन्याकुमारी कितना दूर है , किसी रविवार को हो आऊंगा ;)

Ride to Bimakali Temple, Sarahan #trip2

I was eagerly waiting for weekend to have a ride. Friday evening i finished my office work and started for shimla at about 6PM. There is a short-cut route from nahan to Shimla via Kumarhatti but road is getting renovated and is badly damaged (got to know from #trip1), and also it was ride with my headlamps on so i chose to ride via chandigarh which is better highway road, all packed with clothes i reached Shimla at about 9PM. Met my brother Ankur at Shimla University Campus. We both then went to IGMC area to have nice dinner and there we had lot of chit-chat along with nice food. Reached back to Ankur's house after dinner and took rest, Ankur decided to join me on the ride. I came to Shimla undecided about destination, i just want to go to higher himalayas and enjoy the cold weather. Ankur told me about Bhima Kali Temple about 180 Km from Shimla.

Warning up the machine at Shimla 3 degree Celsius

Next day morning we got up early at 8AM (yes that's too much early at Shimla). and starting our journey. Crossing Sanjauli, Dhali in shimla we were on National Highway 22. Next came the most dense forest of Asia. forest has dark green full of devdaar trees. narrow road inside jungle was taking us to higher attitude. We did not stopped and keep riding last night i had gone little pain at right hand knuckle and hence i was not feeling comfortable with the gloves. I gave gloves to Ankur and continued without gloves, after few kilometers i adjusted with the temperature and cold was bearable without gloves, atleast it was better than to little sweet pain. We crossed and beautiful village fagu and headed towards Narkanda. Narkarda is situated at an altitude of 2708 meters. We could see the snow/ice on the road sides. though i was wearing 6 layers of clothes but at this place i was feeling cold on my chest.

The Route

Ankur Stopped me at a village after he saw an Alto. I don't remember now but car was having a fancy number. it was his friend's car, met his friend, This guy warned us to be careful from the ice patches on the road, from this place we have to go down to Rampur town situated on the bank of river Satluj, many portion of this road remains in shadow away from the sunrays, which makes that portion refrigerated. Rolling down from this place we stopped at North View Dhabha for breakfast, near to Kumarsen. Had a black tea along with couple of Aloo paranthas. Being prime apple belt of Himachal raods are nicely maintained in this area. Also this area is constituency of Congress leader Virbhadra Singh. Rolling down the road we reached Rampur.

Road above the Hydel Power Station

I had been to this place before also but that was car ride to visit power generation plant. City also have Asia's Largest Hydro Project Nathpa Jhakri Power Corp. at Jhakri and also have world's deepest Surge shaft at shah 22 K.M. away from Rampur. Whole hydel project is built inside a mountain, from outside no one can judge road is crossing over a 5 story building inside a mountain. It was awesome view here. one side giant mountain and other side deep green coloured river satluj. after Rampur we again started climbing up the mountains. Road was broken and many places with signboard showing spots for landslides, these patches are normally not repaired frequently so tarred road totally vanishes for few hundred meters at these places. After reaching jeori we got out of the national highway and starting climbing Sarahan hills with a narrow road. we were crossing the apple orchards but beauty of these trees were lost because of off season, trees were only having hanging dried leaves.

2 Wooden towers of BhimaKali Temple

Crossing the Camp of Indo-tibetian border police we were finally reached sarahan. people at these place were wearing green color himachali cap similar one former CM Virbhadra wears. Reaching here i learned that bhima kali temple is ancestral temple of Raja Virbhardra's Family. You can see the picture temple is built of pure wood and iron sheet on the roof. Temple comprises of two tower shaped multi-story building, one tower remains closed from public visitors and is only opened for Raja Sahib once in a year during particular time as told by purohit in the temple. Even in the other tower major part remains locked and only opened for pooja. we can see the deities from the small windows. Basement of this tower was closed with a sealed locked. this was treasure hall of the temple. for sure this will have huge treasure inside. After some photography here and there we settled at Hotel Shrikhand by HP Tourism department for nice lunch.

Ankur at Hotel Shrikhand, Sarahan

It was 3PM by we finished lunch we have to travel back to shimla which was 175Km back following is the picture showing the shimla mountains from bhimakali Temple.

Narkanda Mountain from Bhimakali temple, Sarahan

You can image the chillness of the roads we have to experience while going back. and also wearing gloves was still a pain, i tried to ride with hand gloves while starting back from sarahan, but removed them after few kilometes. Better to bear cold than the pain. We kept riding to cover max distance in sunlight i was riding with a target to cover Narakanda without headlamp on, but with all the curves it was impossible after kumarsen light were on and we kept riding. Now it was becoming difficult we needed a same shadow area i mentioned above was about to start, Ankur needed a break he told as he was tired of seating on the back seat. we stopped at small shop and had nice ginger tea along with hot pakoras. After this road upto narkanda was little dangerous. sides of the roads were frozen. Narkanda was coldest spot we crossed, we thought to ride directly upto shimla after break from Narkanda, but coldless couldn't allowed us we again took a break from the dense forest and had another ginger tree. the Dhabawala was kidding said, "aap pahle customer ho jinne chai mangi, loki taan Rum lende hain", (you are first customer asking for tea, all others asks for RUM). We were back at Shimla at about 8PM. We contacted another friend Raghav parked bike at his house and climbed to Ridge for nice dinner. Lot of talking and experience sharing and back to Raghav's House for sound sleep.

Next morning got up at about 9 and got ready for return journey to Nahan, Ankur was accompanied with me upto Parwanoo to spend time with Ketan, while going back we were stopping at many places and shooting some videos following is a clip i made from those videos

Stopped at RE Solan for general check-up, the mechanic adjusted chain little bit, rest all things

were fine. Had lunch with Ketan at Parwanoo and after little rest i continued my return journey to nahan. i was at home at about 9PM. I wanted to go to higher attitude craze of bike was pumping me regularly to plan another ride during Christmas holidays from from this ride i learned it is not right time to go on higher attitudes. Snowfall can anytime block the roads and keep me struck at any place. Also it was after a long time and i was enjoying winter at my home. Staying at South india from many years i might have lost the immunity to bear the coldness during snow time ;)

Oh i made this blog very long .. stopping it now. I decided to finish the purchase work as soon as possible. I had already enquired about the availability of "Teal Green" color. Got into a crowded bus from Nahan and started my journey to Chandigarh. Met Guddu at Chandigarh and finished all formalities at the RE store at Sector 27, returning back to Nahan on NH72 was amazing experience. I was careful to keep speed below 40kmpl. but that was some injustice to machine. i changed my mind and set speed bar to 60kmpl. I never experienced such an easy and comfortable travel from Chandigarh to Nahan on 2 wheeler. I was so fresh. No tiredness. Infact i was not satisfied with this 80Km journey so i included Trilokpur Temple in the journey. Though it added only 10km but visiting temple mean a lot to me. Now i was waiting for weekend so that i can go on a little more long drive.

Friday evening finished my office work very early {All IT guys do that every friday :) }. and planned to go to Parwanoo. I had not visited my sister from a long time, also i knew her son Ketan would also be happy to see the machine, as he was constant motivating person to get C500. There two ways to reach parwanoo. one way is I can travel to chandigarh and than take shimla highway, which is all time best way to travel, but to make it adventurous i chose another way this road goes all into Shivalik mountain ranges, with all curves and what not. I knew that this road is getting renovated and some construction work is going on, but i still preferred that.

Chosen path snapshot taken from google maps

At 8:30 i was on my bike. Enjoying the nature i was riding up in Himalayas with earphones playing soulful numbers of Mohit Chauhan. powerful engine was crossing all mountains smoothly which made me realize the actual power of the machine. On this route i was bound, can never cross 60kmpl in this region. Reached Saranha in minutes. Sarahan is a small town with lovely people. Before my schooling i was brought up in this town, i still have some faded images of my childhood. i wanted to stop here and meet my friend but desire to ride couldn't let me do so. I stopped at roadside and captured nature in my camera and continued my ride. Upto Sarahan road was damaged and i was having hope that a spot will come where some PWD people will be seen and then i would be able to see transformed road after that. It was few more kilometres after Sarahan and i observed they are working for widening the road, there was no point of transformation .. all road was dusty and big big machines were working for betterment of road. so this time it is not just putting another layer of charcoal on the road, its is little more. i observed road widening is in progress which will result in double width of road. at some places huge side wall were cut down to make remove sharp curves . at some places road was dig to lower the surface and some places they have raised the level. Hope things go well and new better passage comes up. This road is time/fule saver for people visiting shimla from DehraDoon side. Travelling all the smart villages i reached Kumharhatti. I mentioned smart because i have observed Panchayat putting up hoardings saying "This village is open defecation free". Good thing.

Picture Taken at Sarahan Valley

After KumharHatti it was all NH 22, which is counted among busiest roads in India. this portion was awesome to travel road goes along with the historic shimla-kalka railway line. i never thought to stop and take pictures. in 15 minutes on this highway and i was at my sister's home. Ketan liked the bike and we had lot of chat over chai-biscuit. Visited another friend Kanika at Parwano. as per plan i had planned to continue journey at about 5PM. but later i called up my cousin Ankur at Shimla. Got to know that he is also going to Nahan. He told that he will start from shimla very soon and reach Parwanoo and we can go together. i was in no hurry so i stayed at there itslelf talking to Jeeju and didi. Oh i forget to mention about Uncle, He was Jeeju's friend visited their house at about 6 in evening, and after that we all were listeners, It was amazing to listen him, he shared lot of good experiences with us. Later didi told me that he is HAS officer. It was nice to meet him. We had dinner at didi's home. Ketan informed us a shortcut to connect to newly coming up Parwanoo-Kalka bye-pass road. and believe me this road was wonderful. i ignored seeing the speedometer because it would have restricted me from speeding up on the nice road. within minutes we reached chandigarh, a left turn and we were on NH 73 and later on to NH72. Though we were all packed in sweater and jacket but whenever we crossed rivers we felt freezing cold in the legs. from Parwanoo to Nahan it took around 1.5 hours. I was sure i have not speeded up to extremes, therefore this distance can be covered in less time. Odometer is showing 450Km done so its time for first service for Bike.

<georss:box>30.555784842029272 77.28523506042481 30.559202842029276 77.2901700604248</georss:box>

Hunger Strike at National Institute of Technology

This blog post is not just a story . This is a true incident happening in one of the premier institutes of India. I being a student of NIT know the happiness and dreams of a student when he/she gets admission to one of the NITs in India. Student gets excellent facilities and brilliant faculties and lot more that better education.

One of my friend Zango was also happy to take admission in NIT after he has scored a nice rank in entrance exam 3 years back. He had some choices for selecting but he gave me a wonderful reason to chose NIT Srinagar among those options. I would like share it here. Zango selected NIT Srinagar with a feeling of patriotism and brotherhood for kashmiris, he had a feeling that people are moving out of kashmir with the present issues which is like moving away from the problem. Admiring the beauty of Kashmir he wanted to live in there, He has a feeling if people will stay there, do some constructive work with fighting the terrorism. J&K will again be one of the progressive states.

Unfortunately situation at Kashmir is still same. Two days back some video clips, tweets and emails on internet showcasing hunger strike at NIT srinagar .. It was only after i called up Zanjo, i got the real situation over there. After talking to him i felt very sad. They have to do a hunger strike for sitting in placement interviews. What kind of NIT is this ? Why HRD is not removing administration if they are not able to maintain the NIT standards?

Unrest in Kashmir Valley has caused serious problems for final year placements. Protests happening in Srinagar has targeted NIT students many times, but institutes's administration is sleeping taking unrest as holiday. No steps being taken to smooth functioning of academics . After students contacted HRD ministry, Director was questioned and all anger came back to students. Earlier Students were assured to have a placement week at Delhi, starting 20th Sep where companies will be doing campus recruitment for students, but at present situation director's response is rejection with words 'It was never authorised or approved on papers'. Its third day of hunger strike but no action has been taken. In return administration is trying to break up student's unity using ragging punishments. They tried to contact Media but security is not allowing media people inside the campus boundaries. Most of the media is busy with all party meet happening at Kashmir there is no one to help the students situation. Here is youtube channel of NIT students showing some videos of the real situation at NIT Srinagar. Some action is seriously required before students following gandhigiri turn into angry protesters. Please do comment your views to help Zanjo .. Zango and some of his friends are presently hospitalized and are on glucose.

Adding EMAIL UPDATE sent from NIT Students

Respected sir/madam,

This is to bring to your notice that our institute has been intermittently functioning since 11 JUNE 2010 because of the unrest in the 'Kashmir valley '. This has affected our academics, placements of the final year. No steps have been taken by the college administration to ensure smooth functioning of our academics and placements.

We have been trying to communicate with the director for the past three days but he was unavailable to address our problems. After having called by the HRD ministry, when pressure began to build on the director, the best response we could get was that he came to college after two days of persistent hunger strike and still did not communicate with us directly. Instead he briefed us through the chief warden that the matter of our studies and degree is out of “syllabus” and he is not responsible for any of it.

We are now into the fourth day of our hunger strike and neither a single demand of ours have been met, nor is there any hope of his acting for the same. Regarding the placement of the final year students, we were told by the director that a placement week would be arranged in Delhi from 20th September 2010 which would continue for about a week, but later he forthrightly rejected it saying that the talk was all verbal and was not authorised or approved, thus it could not be held.

Yesterday (16-09-2010) college authorities have tried to communicate through police personnel, which has not given any fruitful solution of our demands and they were threatening indirectly. As the HUNGER STRIKE continued in biting cold, many students are been hospitalised and are running on Glucose with mere medical facilities in college.

Today (17-09-2010) it has been reported to higher authorities by the college management that ‘college has been running smoothly without any hitch’, but nothing of that sort has been happening.

In the afternoon, Dean Student’s affair, Chief warden and other authorities have met students and instead of sorting out the problem, they are threatening the students that ‘the degree of students shall be withheld forever and it won’t take much time for them to rusticate everyone and send them home forcefully, which has been also done in the past. And they have no concern with us whatever we do, and they don’t even care if they shut the college forever and jeopardize our career’.

After that in the evening when media (CNN-IBN) came for the covering of the ongoing hunger strike and to communicate with the students, they were not allowed to enter the college gate, but somehow students managed to talk to them. During their visit many students were even not allowed to get out of their hostels and were locked in. Authorities and some faculty members were restraining and threatening the students for attending media persons.

Meanwhile, including those students who were hospitalised earlier in the college medical unit many other students who fell ill were sent to Rainawari government hospital for further medication.

The Dean Student Affairs’ (Amberdar), has threatened the students who are on hunger strike to call off their strike or else police will come into action to dissolve the situation.

In spite of all these catastrophic events, still director is not paying any attention towards students’ demands (which are logical).

Thus this is our humble submission that you in the best of your capacity carry our motive further for an appropriate redressal.

Here are the demands from the college administration by the students,

WHY HUNGER STRIKE???

Specific Demands

1. As academic is of utmost importance to the institute, our classes should commence regularly from 15th September 2010 at 9:30 am.

2. In case college is unable to arrange the classes during day hours, arrange night classes from 15th September 2010 as it is open outside from 7 pm to 7am.

3. Placement week must be arranged from 20th September to 27th September 2010 as the Director of the institute ensured us about the same in the meeting held on 1st September 2010 in the presence of Prof. A.H. text-align: justify;">There was a time when we were together all the time during college days, myself and my friend were great with each other, we used to share all our life with each other, sometime fighting on small small things and sometimes caring for each other. Those were wonderful days of life. One day we had a clash of opinion over a matter and we stopped talking to each other, and following this series of things happened that we never got chance to speak to each other because of some misunderstanding, though we never said bad to each other, but never got chance to say good also. Whenever we tried to talk to each other it had happened all bad, later with time we got mixed up with other friends and time passed on. Many times i thought to talk to this friend but i never got the perfect chance.

Finally college ended up and we all moved on to our paths. Now years after we are working into company for earning for self, we both were aware of the fact that we are in same city, but being afraid of others reaction we never tried to talk to each other. The priorities in life were changed, but a feeling of missing each other existed in some corner of heart.

One fine day i get sms from this friend with same attitude saying that i am angry with you, and i was like waiting for something from his side, i also replied to sms with same manner as i did when we were very new in the college. Yes, our friendship had started over sms in the college days. then some more text messages from his side and more replies from my side, next day morning i started day with a "good morning" text to him, but i didn't get any reply.. now at this point of time i was worried to loose him again, i immediately wrote up a big email to him saying him to forget all old things and lets continue as friends, but i haven't got any response to that email also. finally at night i got sms reply and we had long time chatting over sms.

Days passed on with sending sms to each other, finally i called him but he rejected with a sms saying i am still angry with you, i remained calm thinking similar things has happened in college days also, whenever i approached him he was into some other thing and whenever he tried, (rarely :) ) i was into some other situation so i tried back after some more days this time talked for hours finishing balance of our prepaid mobiles. It was good to talk to each other after a long time. I offered him to have lunch or dinner on some weekend, but again i got no good response.

I eat once on every thursday. Last thursday i had planned to prepare rajma for the dinner, whole day we were sending sms to each other and i returned back to my house at about six in evening, now i started asking him to join me for dinner after some no he finally showed some signs to be interest in meeting. Now i also started giving some more offers as a sales executives does all time, I offered him to take on a bike ride, though i knew he likes rajma i tried to bribe by making special dish kheer for him. now he was close to say yes and i was losing my patients out of hunger, in between i got a call from some other friend and i didn't get chance to reply for his sms. He took this time delay as if i am angry and not replying. After i finished talking to my other friend i had 3 messages first one was normal second one was "u there?" and the final one saying bye almost, i called back him and explained that i got a call, same time i convinced him that similar time mismatch has happened many times and we missed lots of things in past, i again said better not leave this chance of having dinner together and reply i got was "come outside office i will join .."

The very first thing i did is switched off my mobile, i don't wanted to let him call me back saying "no" for this dinner and i zoomed to his office on my friend's bike who stays quiet near to my house. After reaching his office i confirmed that i am outside his office. He came out of office with a nice smile and we came back to my house, i never felt that we were meeting after years, i prepared rajma and rice for both, he had picked up fruit juice from office for me. and i had a chocolate in my fridge for him.

Talking about the time passed since we met last time, we shared some major things that has occurred and i found we were always aware of what is happening in each other's life. Though it was not a long time to tell many stories but was enough to share all major things of our life. and the dinner was over. It was to find my friend back. I dropped him back to his house with a hope to meet him again sometime.

Three Travelers

This is story about three travellers in bus, who boarded a late night bus, this bus was full of passengers and many were going standing in between the seats as after this next bus service was very late, This long route bus came down to Chandigarh crossing all the Shivalik ranges of Himalayas and was destined to reach Haridwar in Uttarakhand in Haridwar.

After a break at Chandigarh bus started further journey at about 9PM. let me introduce you the first traveller, he is from age group 25-30 and is a regular passenger of this late night bus. This guy works for a Hotel in this city and is very much talkative. He was standing outside bus as if he was prepared to go standing in the bus, last person to board the bus before it started. Next is another boy, it seems he has rarely travelled in bus, with all his dressing and accessories, he should have his own vehicle. This guy was surprised with the situation here as no seat was available, he did many ups and downs to look for an empty seat for him. but no success, before the bus actually started he was little far from the bus drinking coffee a stall.Ignition of bus engine made him to throw away his coffee and run for the back door of bus. so here first traveller has given way to get him inside before he has closed the back door of the bus.

Bus has started with full of passengers, ticket checker got in from the front door and he was struggling hard to move inside bus. if you are thinking that i am the 3rd traveller you are wrong. 3rd traveller is not in the bus. surprised ! read more

Jig, the first traveller, was used to all that crowd, but for Yulub, traveller no 2, this was very uncomfortable he was standing on one foot on the stairs of bus looking for some place to keep his second foot. he was carrying a mineral water bottle along with him. Seeing uncomfortable Jig shouted,"go inside, door is not closed", he shouted again as there was no reaction on passengers, this time he was little rude and strong in voice, people moved a bit and Jig and Yulub were standing comfortably now. Jig asked Yulub about the destination, Yulub replied his place which was about 85Km from Chandigarh, Jig told about his destination which was some 60km far, later Jig assured him that he will not be getting any seat till his town. Yulub was looking little bit fine, he had a sip of water standing comfortably.

Bus was about to leave out of the main city Jig was looking out of the window, it was a cold night of November, but cool breeze coming was soothing in side the crowded bus. Suddenly Jig shouted to ticket checker to stop the bus. Bus stopped Jig opened door and there was an old man running towards the bus. Jig made way for him to get into bus, with closing sound of bus started movement. Old man thanked Jig , here comes the third traveller, Jig was calling him as "Pradhan ji", Pradhan ji also use to travel in the same bus, Jig and Pradhan ji were from the same village.

So after Pradhanji got into bus there talk started. they started cursing the new bus driver and ticket checker in this route bus. This driver usually doesn't stop bus outside city, where Pradhan ji used to work, so these days he has to finish his work early and than had to travel extra 5 kms to City bus stand.

Yulub was telling to them why you dont request to have another bus at this time if daily so many passengers are coming, Pradhan Ji much experienced of life smiled he was sure that by writing to transport officer a new bus can't be introduced on the route. but Jig was totally against this statement, he said Govt. doesn't works this way, he had his own ideas, like doing a hunger strike, stopping ongoing bus for some hours and protesting with a road block. They had a great discussion, it seems Yulub was aware of some national funding schemes and he was trying to tell him about them, but Yulub had negative points against all the schemes. later Pradhan ji concluded that govt. introduces many schemes but maximum money given for such things goes into pockets of management, when things are implemented either they remain hanging due to lack of fund or they are completed without actual proposed things in the project, he was wise fellow to stop aggressive thinking of the Jig, in fact he gave some good examples to show how these aggressive acts harm the public.

Everyone at the back side of the bus were listening to their talk. 3 travellers different age group different experiences and nature, but conclusion made by Pradhan ji made everyone to re-think. they were silent for sometime, then bus has reached a place where a bridge was under-construction from last 2 years. here Jig again started pointing to the bridge that it is not done in 2 years, and Pradhan ji tool opportunity to take him into past, when many people had asked govt. to change the road from some other part of the river, for saying this they had troubled the workers who came from outside for construction. and result was construction remain halted for a long time, part of money was shown paid to the watchmen who guarded the purchased construction material, He also told that a greater part of construction material was spoiled and taken away by the local needful. he told this bridge construction would not have expanded for this much time, if people wouldn't have done all that.

Just after some time bus stopped and Jig and Pradhan ji left the bus. there was a complete silence in bus now. after some time Yulub also reach his destination

Now don't curse me if you don't find it interesting .. i was feeling to write blog and i posted this incident. There are lot of things to learn from this blog.

Do comment for sure

Telengana partition notified me ....

I am very much aware of the Telangana separation form the Andhra, but i never spent time to think about the plus and minus about the separation. Abhishekh's blog enlightened me about some very good reasons to have this separation done. Really small state can be much prosperous, specially when this smaller population has different life style in many terms. Jharkhand from Bihar and Utarakhand from Uttar Pradesh are very good example of this.

My only concert are the places which will be marked near to boundary, the places which share the culture of the both side of the new boundary. These are the places affected in the partition. I can't say the exact situation when Himachal was made out of Punjab. There are lot of differences in the two cultures, and separation made them all set to develop independently in their own way. But how about the southernmost district of Himachal. District Sirmour where people enjoy the mixed culture of Himachal and Punjab. Although there are huge number of points where this district can also add to the development of Himachal but I feel Sirmour is ignored by the HP government, and it hurts when it gets counted in the last 100 backward districts of India. I remember people get very upset when things planned for district Sirmour don't get fund from government, and it hurts when same planned thing get implemented in some other district.

2 years back when i was at home, there was a common talk that a big steel plant is coming up in district, which will provide huge employment to the people. later in next holidays when i got down at bus stand i saw some people sitting on "dharna" to stop the shifting of that steel plant from Sirmour to Kangra district. At this time i saw the feeling of being neglected in the people of sirmour. go to search engine and search for "fossil park asia". you will get it in sirmour but i feel ashamed that there is no proper road for this park and no proper fund to manage the park, please do take something to eat and drink while visiting, you may not find something to purchase and do see the extraordinary museum there. Renukaji lake, situated amidst lush green forests of Indian Himalayas, the surroundings of the Lake offers an excellent venue to tourists for the adventure sports, but again it is not funded as other tourist places in Himachal.

recently i found that some things are planned to attract tourist in sirmour but who knows that get shifted like Steel plant :)

Jagjit ji live at Bengaluru

Rohit from Delhi has tried to call me while i have missed his call some how, later when i saw my mobile notifying about his miss call, i pinged him, he asked me to check my mail. Before the actual start of run all were gathered in some or other groups. i was running for Parikrma. I can't forget some the groups running for ashirwaad and ignite india as they were making good noise with all slogans. One can really get impressed by seeing there dedication towards developing India ... Finally all the race flagged off and all were on the track to finish every thing was fine, i was feeling proud to be part of so concerned crowd after listening to their views. People had so much ideas to fight against Piracy , pollution, politics and other so many things ...

everyhting went fine but it was terrible when all came to road, Kingfisher has put up their stalls providing water bottle for the runners and allmost everybody was drinking water as soon as i covered 1.5K road was full of empty water bottles where was the common sense of the public, their were bins installed across the track but some 5% participants only used them.. where was the civic sense of the people ...

I just convered the track enjoying the run with a thought that i have contributed some thing to society helping children..

will be back after with next blog soon ...

All over the lunch table

Just sharing the incident happened over lunch table at cafeteria today. Prateek was talking about something interesting as usual and we were enjoying the talk, these days election campaign is on the heights so TV Screens with news channel was showing people of Gandhi family of Indian National Congress. Prateek remembered that he used to tease one of his Sikh friend by saying that Gandhi family has some issue with Sikhs, he quoted the riots in Punjab was a result of decision taken by Indira Gandhi. And later on he continued saying that he used to say to sardar that because of this people from Gandhi family have lost their life. He added more by saying that Sonia to be on safe side has given a chance to Sikh by appointment of Prime Minister from India.
He was simply saying the points he might have put in front of his sardar friend just to make him respond back a good laughing session was going on, all of sudden we got attracted by the TV Screen where news channel was showing a journalist throwing show on Home Minister P. Chidambaram. It moved our discussion from the issue and we actually started discussing why journalist can hit on the target, Bush remained unbeaten by them and so is the home minister. We were discussing to develop software for journalists so that they can simulate the hit before actually trying it. After having more such funny discussion all were quietly having nice lunch. Suddenly Prateek started laughing again and in his laugh he passed the message that journalist was sardar and was asking some question about the riots only. Now Prateek left his food and started asking us to finish it fast, normally he is the last person to finish his part at lunch, he was eager to go to his desk today … you all can guess why??

Sometime back his sardar was online and he wanted to tease him again with the issue :)

Trip to Kanyakumari

I was back in campus for mid-term evaluation of my project, evaluation was scheduled on Friday, so i reached calicut a day advance on Thursday morning, full day spent with friends talking about here and there, finally at night prepared project report and the presentation for tomorrow's evaluation. by noon presentation got over and we were decided to go to Kanyakumari, we have tried to get car from Raju bhaiya but as he was little busy with some work we couldn't got from him. finally we got a Wagon-R from the Abdul Cheta, many times we rented bikes from him for small journeys but this time we have planned to go almost 500 Km bike will not be a good option.
We all got into car and started our journey at 4PM. As weekend was the only time with them they all were returning back on Sunday night. My roommate, who was with his friend Manish last night was coming back to room, but i went to inter-state Bus stand to give send off to my friends. i called Viney before going to Majestic and said him that today we'll prepare our food at room itself, also Viney's friend Manish was also coming to our room for tonight and being very good cook he always like to prepare food.finally i left with my friends to kick them out from Bangalore..

It was around 10PM and i was on the way back to room, i got a call from Viney that we have not purchased salt, as it was newly setup kitchen we only had things which were good enough to prepare tea/coffee. it was first day we were going to cook so we found that salt was not purchased. I reached home with a salt packet and i went out to call SHRUTI. They prepared rice and dal + bhindhi.

After i finished call, i entered room and got into their talk, they were discussing how come dal is sweet, Manish was not getting how come dal got sweetness, i thought let it be after tasting so much variety of food i don't have problem in trying out this dal. i went to kitchen and saw the small little bottle in which i have kept some sprite left out last night, when i offered that sprite to these people they asked me back is that SPRITE(a colorless cold drink brand), finally they started laughing , they have used SPRITE for preparation of dal.. now finally they got how dal has not got its original flavor, now Manish was also relaxed as he found that he hasn't done any mistake, his cooking is still good. We had that sweet dal as gujrati dish with rice and bhindi prepared along...

Hey what are you planing now something like Pepsi chhole, frooti rajma or colin rice like Rinku suggested to me

Back to School !!

Hey don't be carried away by the topic .. you might get a view that this guy got chance to visit Nahan in Himachal and again he visited his Army school where all 14 years of first education was spent .. no yaar this time i visited school with all crazy employees of Yahoo! Bangalore ..

Yahoo! organized their annual year end party on 27 Feb'09. Being workin with Yahoo! i was invited there and it was gr8 to spent time with Yahoo!'s present at party ....

One fine afternoon i just return from lunch and login to machine at my cubical, all of sudden one guy from HR team came to my station and presented a SLATE and a BATTI.. yeah! this was the invitation for the Yahoo!'s year end party .. as party was named Back to School and dress code was school uniform. I found it cool to be part of such event, same time i found a mail in my inbox inviting to the party with a description of the events to be held there, My manager Narendra has already told me about the party events and as he was aware of my singing talent through my browser he advised me to perform there .. i replied back to juhie asking if i can present a solo song there, but i got reply stating that this time only group performance are taken up as party events are reduced . OOOO bad now i was in a mood if i would have got a chance then i would have made some more people to know me :P...

Finally i got back to work .. one another day i got mail from Teenu asking me to get Karaoke track of the song to be perform... he he he i was happy to get a chance i went to met teenu and told her that i have some songs you can select one you want me perform some more senior Yahoo!s were present there and some other Teams .. i said her that i am not getting karaoke for any of these tracks and that was a problem, it wont be good singing without any music on that big stage. anyway i started the Punjabi dhun which i performed almost every time during my MCA @ NITC i got into to stage. and they all liked it. Now Here come the first friend i got with this event ... sardarji standing just near to TT Table with a thought to start game after song ends up, came forward and after giving a praise for punjabi geet said to Teenu that i am going to my home to get tabla ... yes it would be nice to have Tabla with the song ...

Finally MP i mean Manpreet Singh the sardarji was back with a bag and we got into Yahoo!'s breakout area for pratice yes after matching the taal we decided to perform together .. MP was also performing at Party he was part of three events including my song .. first was the dance and other was a homour skit MAD-ADD in their words .. really their performance was awesome ..MAD-ADD got very popular with Latika. I will update the blog with videos as soon as i will get. it was nice party with all the fun, kid games where all seniors Yahoo! officials were playing like small children .. after on stage events there was crazy award distribution function which was amazing thing then was good dinner with chilled Beer along with ..

Finally all at the dance floor with Dj playing quiet good dance numbers....

Nice Party with gr8 Yahoo!

The Welcome Days

I still remember the day when i have entered the NITC gate with lot of dreams and happiness. Till my graduation i have not faced ragging but while entering this institute i was planned up that i have to go through the harsh ragging. i was afraid of all that and was sure that if someone will do something wrong with me i will complaint ...
Day one all gone with different orientation programs and at night someone told that our seniors wanted to meet us and all of us have to be there in 10 minutes. They have already approached some of our classmates and have told where to come, after thinking for a while i have decided to join other people and we all moved to G-hostel. Our seniors were crazy to meet to us we all got lined up and they started asking some basic introduction question. after they did it for some 3 students they asked us to continue in the same format. all of us have given our introduction in the format prescribed by the seniors. They have already said whoever feels this is ragging they can leave immediately and they wont be disturbing him, everyone felt OK and stayed there , when we were finished they concluded that none of us is good in expressing ourself and it will be difficult for us to survive if we will stay like this. They have given some instructions to us (not writing here to keep it confidential)...
We used to go their for some 2 weeks than we had a grand welcome party from them. at the starting we find it boring to just sit for the whole night doing nothing or saying some stories, jokes singing and all that that stuff some sometimes they used to shout on us when we tried to escape from the things they used to say .., but the last days were so nice we have got so close to each other may by writing the personal details of everyone in our batch on the white sheets. We had some debates in the G hostel and so many other things which finally improved some or more skills . We have got to know about each other and the relation among us has gone so strong that we never felt that we are far from our home ... No senior never asked us to do any bad things, and our session had never gone to physical. When we used to go to our hostel back at night we have seen so many BTech getting slaps from their seniors. We were never gone into such situation.

I just wanna say ragging is a different thing and we call our welcome session as student development program, and believe me it really helped many of us.

I will write some more about the days sometime later

Studies for what ?

of course the title of the post is very confusing. What should be the motive of the studies ? knowledge ... getting a job.... of getting out qualities within you...

so many things. when i finished my schooling i was a person who used to be involved in all kind of extra activities. learning music, drawing and whatever chance to play any games. i did Karate classes, football and cricket coaching played volleyball and basketball matches, moreover i have been part of the teams visiting for attending any competitions. Doing all these things i have not been able to keep my scores high.
+1 and +2 also gone with same attitude towards studies and i was able to score 59%.

now i was decided that i should not get involved into these many things i left all and started serious studies
i have done a regular hard work and scored 83% in my first semester. i was surprised with my performance but when i looked myself i was changed. I was not the real Amit who was known for some other things, now amit was known as a topper in the class. i dont find it good at all again decided to change my life style back but here it was not easy i was in Hi-Tech city Bangaluru (Bangalore at that time). I made some friends and started playing football. i got some good friends on the ground some of them were from africa having cool good stamina. Then i got a chance to attend a singing competition and not some other got to know me for my voice. whatelse i need i have good friends and nice friend circle. Ofcourse, studies are necessary i studied the things but not with the feeling to score much marks just to get the knowledge and finally i passed graduation with 76%.

Now comes the post-graduation from NITC with full of resources and so many nice friends who are somewhere near to my ideology i enjoyed a lot again leaving the fear of scoring less marks, and just focussed myself to learn what i really need. now at the time of placement my learning process is still continued with a queue of so many things where i am learning from one side and inserting things on the other end to learn ... here also same low CGPA compared to others for myself its enough..

Sometimes i feel bad i should have scored some more marks sometimes i feel satisfied for what i have learned. This was just my style of learning i learned and feel satisfied but coming to comments from the people who may feel my way is wrong i feel something can be done..

Just wanted to know your viewpoint regarding that
do write comments !

My PC in a bottle

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; It is very sad he is no more in this world. One early morning when he was coming to his duty he slipped and the small incident took his life. he had directly fell down and his neck got injured. Nobody saw him there he was lying there and he was bleeding badly from his neck by the time. When it was noticed he was taken to medical college hospital. Later on we got the news that he is no more.

I am not finding it good to use this news to update my blog but just i am using it as a medium to pass on this to my all who have stayed in hostel

may god bless his soul, we always miss his presence

Here is a picture of chheta taken during Ayyappa Diksha last year

  Courtesy:Bikas Sir

tHe Yahoo! We were told that our placements will start from 26th of June '08 and the opening company will be Yahoo!
It wont be abnormality to dream myself in Yahoo as everyone has freedom for that, i also dreamed same to get into yahoo .. being involved with so many extra activities in the Campus i have ruined my CGPA, yes although i was good in all things but i was unable to maintain my CGPA level above 7. days were coming near and i was assured that Yahoo wont allow me to write their preliminary test. in all the passed years yahoo keeps that cut off but this time they haven't said anything about the CGPA in the first paper pasted on the Temple's notice. Don't get surprised Temple i mentioned above in the PLACEMENT & TRAINING CELL of our campus, all our Khalbali batch call it as Temple with Pujari ji our Placement Officer Dr. Suresh Babu. and GODs liek Yahoo! Oracle comes and gives prasad. i thing you got the thing. now let me introduce our messenger Mr Bharath Raj, (The placement representative for MCA).
Now the situation was Yahoo! interview is coming near and all my hopes were going down as i was assure that i wont be allowed to write basic test. although few days back the fixed date yahoo has send 7 CGPA cutoff criteria but Bharath was regularly promoting me that i will be allowed but i always felt that he is saying normally.

Finally the day came with somethings prepared i went to the pre-placement talk of Yahoo! and after the talk we went Mr Cheetan, and Bharath made me allowed to sit in the exam by showing my career profile. Then comes the written exam. i haven't done any kind of research job for the Y! test. some people can say this as carelessness not doing my homework but opinion for exams is different i learn in constant way and always write exams straightaway, i feel exams are to check what we have learned in the past time its not that few days before exam start mugging up al the books and put all that onto the papers.

Yahoo! has offered two job profiles as per the paper on temple's notice board and i was interested in "System Administrator" one. i was expecting some linux, shell, perl, little bit of C,C++ etc in the exam. but exam started with postfix, prefix conversion of expression and moved into finding complexity of the algorithms, i was bad at the subject and not at all studied something related in the near passed time. The second section was totally from my interest area, and i was happy doing that except the theory concepts. finally it ended up nicely within timings as there was no -ive marks for wrong ones i have attempted complexity questions also randomly selecting the keywords "LOG" "N" square O etc.

Within an hour results were out only two of the MCAs were shortlisted and my name wasn't there in the list, this was the only time when i felt little depressed because i knew it that if i would have studied some more i could have attempted those complexity question, but soon that thing has gone as there were 2 MCAs selected and we had good hope on them. later on interview rounds started and one of MCAs was out , now the only roll no one was inside Y! recruitment process next to be conducted was programming round next morning. as i am administrator of our MCA lab i with bharath were the first people in the lab. later all Y! team and the 6 under process candidates entered to lab and programming started.

These days i am working on a server project in the lab so i started doing my work, one of the Y! team Mr. Narayan came to me and talked to me, when he got to know about me he was confused why i am not in the 6 students coding there. and i said all stuff i had with me the correct and accurate reasons. i got introduced with another Y! team member Mr Dheeraj and he also asked some basic commands which wa an easy job to answer because these commands are like toys to play in lab. He also said same why you haven't cleared the written, i opened the truth of not preparing properly,he advised me to try offcampus after a good preparation and moved to the other end. i started doing my lab work but in about 3 minutes Mr Dheeraj came back to me and said "you have 10 minutes, you will be interviewed ". i was stunned with those words, i went out of the lab and had a talk with Bharath. He supported me and then i moved into the separate cabin inside lab to face the interview. They started firing question targeting networks, i was answering when it was upto my practiced praticle concepts but after crossing asking commands, troubleshooting problems finally they moved to the OSI layers and i got struck at this stage as i haven't studied any network material in the last past months. When i said some thing in front of that interview panel they asked me try try some thing. i started writing and i have written 6 out of 7 OSI layers, forgot the name of one. Now they started asking some more questions and these questions were hint for me to get the name of that last forgotten layer finally i got the name but coming upto this stage i as bit confused with what all things i was saying. this has made my answering frequency a little slow. any how interview ended up happily. later one of them said me that the girl in their team will do HR round for me. and i was in answering "about me " and my personal interest how i got attached with open source technology and linux. she made me stop at question . she asked lets say there is another company paying same as we will, what all things will make you work with Y!, i replied definitely the brand name , she moved on to next depth of question , if you have microsoft and google on the other side , for this i replied and showed my interest to work with open source now the Microsoft got filtered and my situation was to choose among Yahoo and Google. Now this was the situation i was thinking i must have studied some interview blogs etc so that i can answer this type of questions. i was thinking if i say google is better she might take it against yahoo but if i think of answering yahoo, all newspaper cuttings and the e-news saying google bidding for yahoo flashes to my mind. After thinking a while i replied that i feel yahoo in india is at higher position than google india. Even now also i dont know how she have ranked me for that answer but that was difficult one for me. After that there were some question related to location of work as i was already in bangalore for my graduation that wasn't a problem for me ... finally i was out of the cabin.

Getting out of cabin i was thinking whether my interview will be considered as part of actual process or an extra live real experience for me. Later on they announced the results and Fahad from our batch was selected along with another MTech student. and they have offered me internship@Yahoo ! they took some pics with us and moved to airport.

If there exists any miracles yes this is one in my life !

Expecting your comments
Bugg'z

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thebuggz.blogspot.com/2008/07/yahoo-encounter.html' title='tHe Yahoo! I was in love with linux and i have spent a huge amount of time struggling with my linux so many re-installation and many times data loss. i learned so many things reading tutorials from internet and in case i got struck anywhere than the fundoo's consult. later we got chance to set up LAN in our hostel unfortunately i missed the chance to get administration but ultimately it came to me as the appointed student was from non-computer side and he used to consult us in case of problems and finally some days after he handed over the server room key to me, and i got chance to do some research sort of things, after two or three days i installed linux on the machine being fed up with the virus attacks, and later on with help of another fundoo we did NAT ing on the system and everyone in hostel was enjoying internet thereafter. from that time i was into linux, and same time i got Jayant interested to do similar things and then we together did so many experiments sometimes success and sometime failure i don't remember what it was exactly but day before discrete exam i had solved a great problem, i was into linux googling for the things and when i got the things corrected it was 5am at about and after some time i have top appear for my final exams. it was my foolishness or addiction i can't describe it but i lost my discrete exam in first semester.

learned so many things under guidance of those two fundoos than we organized Nakshatra (All INDIA MCA MEET) for the first time, that was a start we got from our super senior batch. being part of Technical team with Shivendra, some more things got cleared, whenever i went to him with some doubt he has cleared it in minutes as if he has worked a lot on that problem., and then time came when they left the college after finishing MCA now andro administration came in hands of Sunil and Bineet. i didn't had much interaction with Bineet but i have seen great dedication in Sunil and after those two fundoos he was the next person to get things, again in the even the 4th semester we presented second version of Nakshatra and whole event was learning process, this time we worked more than previous.

another interesting thing i would like to point out, during first semester Andro Admins were having long hairs styles , at that time we both myself and Jayant have also kept long hairs, continuing Shivendra and Abhishek, Sunil Saini also kept long hairs for a long time. later jayant has cut his hairs but i am still having the hairs i starting growing at that time, and i don't have any future plans to cut my hairs , i am having longest hairs in the campus. of course among boys , but there are girls having short hairs than me ...

now at the middle of this 4th sem finally all the wait is over and i have root password of ANDROMEDA, yeah myself and Jayant has been chosen as the admins for this coming year

and this is the first work i have done on Andromeda is cleaning of the machine, it was too much dirty, prashant appointed DELL engineerer in the campus helped for that and now publishing this post from Andro machine ..

will be back with another post very soon ............

Amit Pundir - Ultimately with lot of destination points we have started out our journey. a great missing our Netaji was not with us this time that because of some previous fixed appointments, which is not good for relations.anyway Neta agreed to be with us in another way(that's secret). Hats off to Neta. then Shinu-Fahad had to attend a compulsory meeting in the G hostel near Kiran sir's room so again busy.
then Jarhead he has so many viewpoints to make him understand that he will not go out of his singlet.
now remaining members from girls Khalbali, we didn't waste time to ask, with preasumed decision. i have one complete semester experience they never even join me for Shangri-la in day time, how can they come for outside trip and thats on the bikes.

In hurry we got the bikes hired from the cheta near to KMCT college. then a sleeping bag with three bedsheets and some other things we have to roam more than a night. so many plans, which to follow has to be decided,
we can travel upto a Guruvayur or some more to Thrisur. One idea to spend night on some beach, other to stay in church celebrating Christmas. so many things in mind. We all came to on decision that we will visit Jesny's home. It will be nice experience for us and great surprise for her.

And we started the bikes from G hostel. the first Khalbali in tour, one of the bike run out of fuel, Pavan was on the bike may be that is the reason he always get something unexpected. Guddu got some petrol from nearby petrol pump and journey started. Our first break was on a Bridge reason to click some photos :)... here are some pictures taken on the bridge

Then we speed up further without knowing the exact destination, i mean we don't even know her home place we just had an idea that its somewhere in between Guruvaur and Thrisur that's it. we than next stopped at a small town in the way where my bike tyre got puncher. it was exactly in front of a Bajaj showroom and gave it to the shop for repair, we had fruit juice at the place and tried to get the name of the place from Ranju (Jesny's friend) without telling her that we are on the way to her home. the name of the place is difficult to pronounce when i cut the phone i forgot the name, i called again and got the spelling which pavan has written on atm slip. then he pronounced the name of place to his best to the shop owner, and after some two three try he got the owner got the name, then he directed us towards the place. then after moving another hour we called Jesny and opened the surprise, at this time we were around 30 Km far from her village, we talked to her father and he directed us the way. the journey was great road was full of traffic of vehicles heading towards Shabrimala temple. Then next we stopped at "Chetua" a small town after Guruvaur. There we purchased a Christmas gift on behalf of Kahlbali, and moved further now next we have to search for the MI Hospital as we were guided by Jesny's father.

After reaching M.I. Hospital we called her and were waiting for her father. We haven't seen jesny's father so by the
time he came to us we were just thinking from which way he will come, and just guessing on the people passing from there, after some minutes of wait, he came and we move to her home. it was great when we entered the village, houses were decorated with lights with some area resembling the Jesus birth scene. it was not only the Christians houses even some of the Hindu's house were also shining with the stars light up in front of there houses.

we reached her home and after that we spend our time in eating cakes, fruits, and some other dishes names i don't know including the my all time favorite "white spongy cake". then we visited her relatives houses in the village there also we got so many things to eat but what to do no place left. then we came back to her home, now its time to have dinner.

Already we have taken so much how to have dinner, but we finally took the chairs on the dinning table and started some of the things were prepared by Jesny herself and was not much difficult to trace when we found more chilly in some of the things. oh ! food finished now what to do next, after having a discussion among ourself we decided to move back to nitc after visiting Church at midnight. some more pics taken at home

After some more gupshup it was time to go to church. and at mid-night almost every christian in the village was at the Church. Prayers started and after saying our heartily wishes to Jesni's family we started our journey. This time we were on air with more than 85km/Hr speed. with a tea break at one fuel station in the way, we reached back to NITC at 4am. Everyone enjoyed the tour to Jesny's home

Merry Christmas

The Third Semester !

By the end of third semester I have found something to add to my blog, before starting it i want to say that this all content is my personal opinion, some people may find it wrong or some of you might be agreed to me . if it is good i expect nothing from you but if u feel that i am wrong somewhere in my opinion please do write a comment... after i wrong things should go out , they always create a difference....

Our batch has a bad name in NITC that this batch is not good in studies and it is true also, in boys there are very less people who really want a to have all bookish knowledge and most of us are like not taking any kind of tension and fear about studies, and there are some people who are really working hard but because of some or other reason not able o score higher grades. Although there is a group of people who are extremely good in grades and knowledge but majority is not so there are spots on the batch's image.

Let me start from the start of this semester we all have a idea in our mind that this semester we have to do somewhat better, this year we wont be wasting much time in extra activities, and so many things . Though it is very normal to have such things in mind of a student at the beginnings of session, it depends on him/her how far he/she maintains the words. I started the semester with the same view and this time i am the class representative as no one came out for that job so i thought to try it, i planned some things for the semester to make it different from the previous semesters.

During our first semester all of us have enjoyed the programming subject under Saju madam , this semester she was back for Networks so many people were happy to have a class with Saju madam, as it an odd semester a new batch has to join the MCA Family@NITC. At out joining time we had missed so much time going to seniors and spending night with them learning the life@nitc. this time we all had that thing in our mind and everyone has decided to have fresher party in a week of joining of the junior batch, and to conduct some constructive classes for them.

We planned to have Linux classes for them, for which i have done some preparatory work with some of my batch mates. The content of lectures was also decided and distributed among us. Other than this we planned to have web designing classes for them, Juniors were excellent people, but fresher party was delayed reason: actually our seniors who were getting nice placements at starting itself want to give placement party to us i mean our batch according to tradition of MCA Family. now if fresher party for juniors is arranged before this placement party seniors must invite to juniors also so we were asked to delay the "welcome party".

now three weeks gone waiting for the "placement part" at last we had a great party from Seniors in TAJ Hotel party was nice we enjoyed the food at the hotel and later on the Calicut beach, that was my first visit to a beach, before this i have seen beach from far distance some two times. Happening of the party gives green signal to "Welcome Party" for juniors, and proceeded for that. we took permission from Dept, aryabhatta out lecture hall was booked as venue for the party. after permission work over one night i called all juniors boys to my room at hostel for asked their interest. we do some cultural activities during fresher party so it was the time for their talent. but unfortunately time was not in ours, Our chief warden came to visit our hostel and we were caught conducting a meeting with juniors. i tried my best to say the actual situation but they were new to nitc who is going to believe in such a situation, anyway chief warden didn't took any strict action for that, he has to inform to our department about the issue and he said all to our Head of Department i was called by HOD sir. i said all things and with a warning we were out of his room, but another bad thing happened fresher party has to be shifted to next month, i am still confused with this decision, i mean if some ragging is going on it will be there before fresher party and taking fresher party to next month means giving more time for ragging. Anyway it was shifted and we have to put out plans on a pause for another month.

HOD sir was convinced with my words but when Nazeer sir got this thing he was angry with us he called me and said so many things i was not allowed to say anything, and i do have(not only myself , we all) respect for him so we can't go against him, as MCA coordinator he is always there for MCAs. but another day he got some news from girls hostel and after that he came to our class and there was an unforgettable Lecture by him. i will remember those words forever, i don't know who said him things that made him against our batch.

Now this was the time we can't even stand next to our juniors but still we helped them to best of ours. Now u might be thinking how this helping word coming. After coming to NITC campus many of juniors were not feeling well, few of them suffered with jaundices and were hospitalized also . during those days my classmates were the only people who used to go to them for food, in rotation many of us spent night in the hospital, all moral and financial support we can give we have given. I would like to mention two of the incidences during this time.

one fine day a junior was suffering from headache and we got that he had some problems of tumor in his past life. two of our batchmates took him to BM Hospital in the city, we had a test on the day, and they had to left that, our good luck at the last of the semester they got a chance to write it again with some less weightage of marks contribution.

another incident one of the boys feeling abdomen pain, already he is had some symptoms of jaundice and he had taken some prescription from nearby health clinic. now as soon as we got the information about him one if us, Girish went to get an autorikshaa so that we can take him to the clinic, but time was too late to get an auto, ultimately the he made some policemen convinced for help and he came to juniors hostel in a police deep.

Euphoria 07

Reminding previous stories are taking time , this time i am writing one of the latest event Euphoria 07. let me tell you about the events the basic aim of event is to identify the talented students so that Music club here can have some more people with them. mostly first years and second year students will participate in the event. Event was categorized in three types of performances, HINDI, ENGLISH and MALAYALAM.
i got to know about the event, singer inside me got inspired to sing again, i though of many things and ultimately decided to sing. The program was scheduled to be held in three stages. my idea of participation was not to win, but to get noticed in NITC. some people have already heard me at CSED farewell last year, but most of them are not in the campus now. about mca's they all know that Amit sings, infact they can't stop me singing whether i am singing good or bad...
Preliminary was on Tuesday 11th Sep, it was in the big Drawing Hall, that about three times bigger than a normal class room, Akhilesh ji has also prepared for the competition. He reached there with Guddu and registered himself , i have told him that i will also come but i have gone to Vally with Pavan and Jayant. Guddu called me and asked about me, i told him that you register me i will reach there. after some time three of us reach there guddu and all were there well i was not sure which song to perform there, many students came there, first we were at the last benches but no voice was was audible there
we shifted to front benches. Akhilesh's name was called . He sang nicely song was "Gori tera ganv bara pyara ". great performance, after some time my name got called i was on the stage, while walking towards stage i decided the songs and i performed "Thare bina laage nahi mara jiya re " by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. It was loud enough to reach at the last row of the hall. After this performance i was flying , i did it well , in room every eye was aiming on me , and the amount of claps i got was really unforgettable. Here finishes the first round of the Euphoria 07.
Now at night i have seen the shortlisted candidate list. yes my name was there , going down it was great to see Akhilesh's name there, i ran to his room to congratulate him, he didn't believed me, i took him to hostel notice board. he rechecked it and we started shouting to inform to all, although we were not worried to get the prize, but thought was that we will get another chance to show the talent from PGs side.

as usual we spend night doing nothing constructive, creating fun for the happiness, and morning again back in classes in front of teachers, no body knows why we can't sleep in hostels rather than sleeping the classes, day passed as normal and later in the evening as every body was on to us for the competition, Akhilesh has prepared something for him but for me, i was not getting any song to perform there, at last the performance started and everyone was prepared for this with a great practiced song, and all of sudden they called my name now this was really tough to select a song at that time i started walking towards stage and claps have dropped a song in my mind, and here is the song i performed there .....

"Naina thag lenge" from OMKARA it was really great to sing among that much crowd in NITC. i came off the stage. Akhilesh ji has given another great performance, the whistles and claps were best part i enjoyed, the simplicity of Akhilesh and the melody in the voice was great. He sang "Chandi jaisa rang hai tera " by Pankaj Udhas. Then started the second round of the events all the B.Tech participants were much prepared than we two, even when event has not started everyone was practicing outside Aryabhatta Hall, they have given there best performance. For second round Akhilesh ji has prepared a little fast number ... "Chand jaise mukhre pe bindiya sitara " from an old movie, Excellently performed with lot of claps in return. i was the last participant to be called on the stage and everyone has expected something more from me, but i have not selected some song for second round, as soon as name was announced crowd started shouting, although major public there was from B.tech, but they liked me inspite the fact that i am from MCA and i am competing with B.Tech. Based on amount of hooting before the song i decided to perform Punjabi number, but it was a Hindi singing competition , i asked judges if i can continue with a Punjabi song, they replied in positive and i started "Chule aag na ghare de wich pani"...... by Jagjit Ji

For MCA s there it was not a new song as many times when they called me i have performed the same song for them but still the other crowd enjoyed it, i don't know how many of them understood by Punjabi in the song but the Punjabi rhythm made them tap their feet. with end of my song the event was concluded, i was assure to go to finals, they announced to give the results by night on hostel Notice Boards.

on the Finals i have performed with Allah k bande by Kailash Kher it was praised by the audience but i think the high profile classical singer sitting there as judge has not find any thing good as the other malayalis has performed , they sang nice classical tracks. in the second round sang kehna hai kehna hai from an old movie Parosan...

opps its time to close lab .. may be i'll edit it sometime later

Effect of Five point something....

I have read the book "Five point something" and after that i was a bit excited with the life at IITs now the chance for IIT was not with me but i had got the chance to spend 3 years ni NIT Calicut. When i was doing my graduation at Bangalore (Karnataka) at that time itself i have heard many things about Kerala, but i never found time to visit Kerala, now i have got three years to spend in Kerala.

After coming to NIT i had a feel of the characters of the book and life was only masti in NITC, i never cared about the academics part, although i have already studied all the syllabus during my graduation but i don't ever had a feeling of getting high marks or being topper. and in my batch almost all the students were of enjoying nature. Starting days were great when our seniors used to call us for "Induction process", i find it good the only problem was speaking bad words for girls, which i was not ready to accept.
And one day came that myself with some other decided that we won't be going to our seniors, and as it was decided no one will go i went out of the boundries of campus to have a cup of coffee, at that time we were not supposed to go out of campus without permission of our seniors. I remember we all were happy at the coffee shop, laughing , abusing and immitating seniors , we enjoyed the time , and while returning we met our seniors now everyone was silent.

one of our senior asked us .. with whose permission yuo have gone out , his big eyes made my fellow not to speak anything, but i was not that as soon as he looked me i said , we won't come to your hostel today onwards , he was looking on to me i was also looking into his eyes, seniors said who are you to take decision , i was standing in same condition. then he started walking and ordered to come to their hostel. but i was determined not to go , after he went i asked from my fellowmates if they will be going or staying with me, they were with me... I was happy to be saved

after this incident for some days we remained free doing all masti in our hostel, in a single room we all used to sit alltogether and talk about our seniors,
it was not like that i had something bad about my seniors i was quiet impressed with some of them, and i was obeying them as my elder brothers but whenever they asked me to say bad about our class girls or any other girl, i remained silent that was a difficuilt thing for me, even now also i am same on my decision.

Some days passed without seniors and then one day they made us emotinal and we all agreed to come to their hostel, and they were same making us to do some funny things and this time i was not made to say anything bad about girls , the "Indiction process" was over in a week after this and we got Fresher Party, we enjoyed the day full of fun.

The "Inducion process" time will always be remembered not because of the revolt we made but for the things which we have done their. this was the only thing which has made our class to be united and we all got mix up so much fast that no one among us never felt missing his/her home.

now "five point something" life , which was a great thing for me now it was a flop, as we have done much better masti that characters of 5-P-Something had not enjoyed.

I have got so many friends within very short duration, i will mention about all of them in further posts ..

Amit Pundir -
